Research phase
Embarking on the project with a tight deadline and limited research, I began crafting the main page, drawing inspiration from competitor websites. The positive feedback from stakeholders on this initial design was encouraging.
Prototype
Guided by stakeholder preferences and my own instincts, I delineated the essential components required for the website. These included an About page, Reservation portal, event details, pricing, and contact information.
Collaborative Insights
Throughout the process, collaboration with our web developer provided valuable insights into business aspects and prompted a reassessment of the section prioritization. His input helped me rethink and rearrange the sections accordingly.
Launch without testing
Despite time constraints, a portion of the website was launched without a menu, a decision made by the stakeholder. Additionally, there were multiple changes in the tool used for design implementation, switching from Figma to Canva and back again. This indecision prolonged the process, contributing to the delay in launching the website. However, it also provided valuable insights into the stakeholder's preferences and the importance of streamlining the design process for future projects.
Back to prototype
In response to user feedback, I've prioritized enhancements to improve the user experience. This includes implementing a FAQ section later, along with enriching content with visuals and providing comprehensive stakeholder information.
Conclusion
Throughout the project, collaboration with the stakeholder and web developer provided valuable insights into business aspects, design preferences, and the importance of effective communication. While there were setbacks along the way, each challenge presented an opportunity for reflection and refinement.
